Bodycam shows 2025 police shooting that killed gunman and bystander in Wynwood

Authorities released police body camera footage of a police shooting in Wynwood that killed a gunman and an innocent bystander in 2025. The June 14, 2025 shooting killed the gunman, Norman Lindo Jr., and 28-year-old Evelyn Valdés, an innocent bystander who was struck by a bullet while in a car nearby. The released bodycam from the perspective of Officer Dorian Acosta starts in silence, but a sergeant is seen on the left firing his gun. Lindo is then mortally wounded. A memo released this month by the Miami-Dade State Attorney s Office said the officers use of deadly force in the shooting was legally justified. According to the memo, Sergeants Jose Cabrera and Javier Herbello and Officer Acosta were outside the Electric Lady nightclub when they encountered Lindo, who d been involved in an altercation and was armed. Lindo was ordered to drop his weapon but when he didn t comply, the sergeants and officer opened fire, hitting him several times. He was later pronounced dead
