Oct. 7: Showers and storms expected to fire up this afternoon

With solid tropical moisture in place on Wednesday afternoon, we have a much higher chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Some could be heavy with a quick 1-2 inches of rain. High temperatures will still reach the upper 80s with a heat index near 100 degrees at times. We will have this pattern on repeat with a high chance of storms developing each day. There are some signs some drier air will move in Sunday through next week with an extended stretch of much drier weather. Perhaps a slight drop in humidity too.
